Week of May 29th - June 4th

My Aunt Kathy passed away May 29th. I'm sad to lose her but glad she is in no more pain. She has been through so much sickness. My heart breaks but I know she is in a better place. We had her Memorial service June 2nd at Mt Pleasant in Smith Mills. I made some of the announcement cards and helped in the kitchen. Mom helped with food and dad was the officiate. It was a really nice service. I just know God was with me the day she passed. I was at church talking with some of my lifegroup members about Kathy at the exact time she passed, then the sermon was about death not being the end. That being absent from the body and present with the Lord was only half the promise. And that when you die you body is like a seed that one day will be turned into something amazing. Something more than we would ever expect it to be. god is so awesome like that.

I was going through some of Liz's school papers...school has been out for a few weeks now... and I came across her composition book. She had some of the sweetest things written in there. She really does just amaze me.
Liz went swimming Sat and got burnt even though she wore sun block. I felt so sorry for her, but it was the first time in a long time she needed me. It made me feel good to be there for her.

Daxton is now 12 weeks old, he has started smiling and telling me he is good. He will give the start of a laugh, I can't for him to start busting out laughing at us.

Me and Big D, we are doing pretty good. As well to be expected with a 13 year old girl and a 3 month old in the house. I feel so blessed to have him in my life. I see so many couples struggling and feel bad that we are so blessed. I say things like everyone has their issues, but me and D have always been able to talk about things before it becomes an issue. I try to pass that on but it seems like that just doesn't sink in to them. It's not hard to give your spouse enough respect not to cuss them or call them names or raise your voice at them. It seems like with just those things you stop things from getting out of control.

Crazy Fun Weekend

This weekend flew by!
Friday after work we went to Project Identity with Shawna. It was really amazing. The basic idea of it was for people who don't go to church or believe in Jesus to just ask questions. Find out Jesus' identity, not what you've heard or even what is in the Bible but look into who history said he was. Kinda like a Case for Christ. It was amazing.

Saturday we got up and took lunch to the Adairs. Mendy had surgery so we were showing some love by feeding them. After our little visit we went shopping. I was looking for a GPS... didn't know they were so pricey! Later that night we met the rest of our Life Group to celebrate Seth's birthday. We had to leave early because we had date night planned. So off we went to Mom's house for UFC and pizza (aka Date night). It will be so much more fun to be able to go back out to a restaurant and just spend time with me and Derrick... once Dax gets a little bigger! Date night was fun as always. Got to see some really great fights.

Sunday we were up really early after a late night to serve at church. Which is always great. I did a quick run to walmart to get Dax some milk. After church we went home and I cooked mac and cheese. Then we headed to Melissa and Byran's house to eat lunch and celebrate Kenny's Birthday. Melissa cooks the best chicken and dumplings. We also had our Life Group. We had communion and talked about project identity. After that we came home, I washed Dax's diaper and cleaned the living room and watched Extreme Home Makeover and Desperate House Wives with Liz while we ate mint chocolate chip ice cream! Derrick went to project identity with Gram and Blake showed up too.

It was a really crazy and fun weekend. Monday came to soon!

Liz turns 13 in in 13 days! :(

Easter!

Thank you Jesus for concouring death so we can have eternal life!

We celebrated Easter by going to church, having my Mom and Dad over for lunch, and then later on going out to eat with Derrick's family. This was a special day for us Derrick's grandparents got to meet Daxton for the first time. Derrick and Dax both carry on Tom's middle name, Thomas. So I was really excited to get pictures of all 3 of them together. Grandma Dot really enjoyed giving kisses to both her great grand babies.

With a new baby at home and not ready just yet to "ruff it" we stayed at home plus Derrick had to work this weekend. Chuck and Christine from our Life Group offered to take Liz camping with them. She also went to a reenactment of Jesus' life. Showing 5 scenes, the Lord's supper, Jesus in the Garden,Jesus being beaten, Jesus being crucified, and Jesus in on the throne in heaven.
